Despite government condemning attacks on Journalists, police have not relented. Last month five journalists were attacked by police and some of them had their equipment destroyed.Media freedom has come under the spotlight in Zimbabwe as the government clamps down on dissent as the leadership of President Robert Mugabe has come under strain in his own ruling ZANU PF party and from opposition and civic organisations demanding an improvement to the economy.
The opposition has already told the government to brace for more protests. More protests are expected on Friday.
