The 68 people accused of public violence appeared before a Harare Magistrate court to apply for bail today.
First to be heard was the bail application for Promise Mkwananzi. The state opposed bail arguing that the accused was facing serious allegations and the risk of absconding was high.
In that matter the court denied Mkwananzi bail and ruled that he makes his next bail application on the 12th of September. His lawyers said they would appeal the decision at the High Court.
Meanwhile the matter of the 67 other accused people was rolled over to tomorrow after the state asked for a postponement.
In other reports, 7 activists were arrested in Masvingo after police disrupted the launch of their #Tasvinura campaign at Civic Centre this afternoon. They are expected to appear in court soon.
