A lecturer who requested not to be named confirmed the incident saying ” He was the SRC President. He just stood up with a placard and I was wondering what was happening. I could not see what was written on his placard. I just saw security team going towards him and removing him from the venue”

Only last week , police in Mutare arrested 14 Zimbabwe National Association of Students Unions (ZINASU) who were holding their meeting.

Mugabe has come under pressure from students who are leaving tertiary education and failing to secure jobs. Three months ago unemployed graduates marched in Harare demanding jobs and police violently dispersed them.
