Staff reporter

Norton constituency aspirant Temba Mliswa has accused ZANU PF’s George Gangarahwe  of abusing drought relief maize intended for rural Mhondoro Mubaira, to campaign and buy votes on behalf of the ZANU PF candidate in the impending Norton by election.

Mliswa said “Mhondoro Mubaira MP, George Gangarahwe is taking maize at the Norton GMB which is then being used to campaign in the constituency by candidate Ronald Chandedza”

‘We have the registration numbers of the truck being used to distribute the maize’ added Mliswa without revealing the evidence.

He threatened to write to the World Food Programme and other Western embassies to inform them that the food they are donating is being used to prop up President Mugabe’s regime. The United States of America recently announce that it was providing food aid worth millions of dollars.

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission recently released a report saying food aid was being politicised by the ruling party but this provoked an angry response from President Mugabe who accused the Human Rights Commission Chairman , Elasto Mugwadi as ‘stupid’.

Efforts to get comment from the ZANU PF candidate were unsuccessful.
