As the Zanu PF factional fights continue to ravage the party, youths linked to Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa have fingered Grace Mugabe’s ally Sandi Moyo in a fuel scam saying she stole fuel meant for Mugabe’s birthday celebrations leaving hundreds stranded in Matopos. It is also being claimed that a youth was raped while walking alone at night after failing to get transport.

Zanu PF is currently involved in serious factional fights as warrying parties seek to replace President Mugabe who turned 93 last month.

In Bulawayo the party’s youth wing has seen those linked to Vice President Mnangagwa’s faction being fired or suspended for various reasons.

However, they continue to fight back with a recent war seeing one of the factions sending a petition to the party national leadership which was seen by this reporter. Various allegations have been made against the Grace Mugabe allies in the petition.

The Bulawayo youths allege that “the province received 6800 litres of fuel for the transportation of youths to Matopos. Through a systematic and corrupt way, the Secretary for Transport, a CDE Maqhawe Sibanda, conniving with a CDE Dean Hlomai converted 3 600 litres of the allocation for their personal use. “

A total of 15 buses were left with no fuel as the pair was alleging all the fuel allocation was being administered by the Women’s League Cde Eunice Sandi-Moyo who they also accuse of taking the larger part of the stolen fuel.

“Hundreds of youths walked from Matopos back to Bulawayo and one of the youths was raped before she arrived home late at night,” alleged the youths.

Efforts to get comment from Sandi-Moyo were unsuccessful.
